item disappeared from belt slot

I was wearing a belt and I had some licensing issues with POE and logging in so I waited. Came back and my belt was gone. Any ideas why this might have happened? can I get confirmation on why it was removed or if it was or what happened? any help please honestly confused and trying to figure this out leaving all possibilities on the table.

GGG can't track items in game. They have no way of knowing what happened to it. It could be in a crafting bench, your stash, or you could have clicked it by mistake and dropped it. Who knows what happened. GGG can't tell you either. If it's gone, it's gone and you will never know why.

I know that there is a way. Especially with enough money. If it didnt have friendship hanging in the balance I wouldnt care half as much. thanks for the help though
