You have to get it on gears/jewels

I decided to use Belly instead of Kaoms and abyssus because I didn't feel the damage was worth using abyssus. Also I'm using Starkonja for the HP and crit, which helps offset the bow nerf a bit.

Damage seems okay, I'm just not sure what to upgrade. Every item I want to upgrade is basically minimum 4-5 ex currently. I bricked my first shaper try last night on like 4% hp. I play from South Africa (160ms) so I have to use predictive and sometimes I just get hit randomly by the beam or orb volley (how I died right at the end, really thought I had it). I want more damage so that I can basically reduce my chances of failure. More dps = less chance of getting hit by random stuff I've avoided on my screen.

It's 1.3 million shaper dps if you factor in Mirage Archer.

I know my possible upgrades, it just seems that they are crazy expensive.

Dying Sun = 6 ex
good steel rings = 4-5 ex
good amulet = 4-5 ex
starkonja with additional barrage = 7 ex
good abyss jewels = 2 ex

I've got 5 ex and like 90 chaos. Really not sure what to do next.

Elemental pen on boots works out to like 130k dps increase. Seems relatively big gain for a small investment.

Any recommendations would be appreciated!

First thing is get a Wise oak and get it balanced as in the guide. its a huge dps and defense boost. second rings and amulets lack or have minimal flat physical. gloves lack any flat physical. elemental damage with attack skill affixes are also excellent ( i have 30-40 on both rings along with 19+ flat phys).

all of those will greatly boost dps. my hp is lacking right now ( about 4.5k mostly) but i still never really die and im slowly getting that hp up. abyss jewels are op for us as well. my setup wont ever get 7k hp in fairness but things (inc bosses) die in 1-3 seconds and i just watch my positioning. I am aiming for 5-5.5k hp and i think that will likely suffice (i also prefer lightpoacher over abyssus as while a minor dps loss with a two abyss socket variety it gives incredible survivability but thats personal pref)

OP The level up Skill Tree is not there anymore. i think you make changes for the 3.1 version, but not put the skill tree for level up ( skill tree lv x {link}--- skill tree lv x+1{link}).

i like to know where to go first and this kind of guide help very much.

Something I'd like to see is some acknowledgement that items were nerfed and things changed, etc. That isn't happening on like any of these builds. It's just something thats getting overlooked or something I dont really understand why.

How do you maintain / sustain mana ? lvling this as alt currently, lvl 67 :/

First line in gear detail I mention doomfletch has been needed. In 3.0->3.1 change log at bottom post talk about no instant leech and what we're doing to combat it. I also mention we're globally switching chance to bleed from crit strikes to better accommodate uniformity between league and standard. I also mention at the very beginning of the thread this build was made in standard league. I make all builds in standard, as there is more freedom and potential for min-maxing there, but doing all content on league is still very much possible and many have done it (obviously).
