[3.13] HERALD OF AGONY MAX BLOCK GLADIATOR Build. Super Tanky & Cheap. Great League Starter!

With the nerf to Herald of Agony Mana Guardian i wanted to try an “older” version of Crawler using the max block gladiator. It appears that it’s still super effective, while staying ultimately cheap and powerful. I can totally recommend this build to anyone who want to push end-game to the max without being frustrated at constant RIPs or lack of damage.

It's no big deal at all -Pob updated for 3.11. Hasn't really changed -As cluster jewels are MUCH harder to get now i added a NO CLUSTER final tree, so that you would have options what to do while waiting for the jewels/farming/currency etc. ====================================================================================== How does it work, in general? Whenever you poison an enemy you get a Virulence stack and a Crawler from the Herald of Agony pops out and starts spitting acids everywhere, destroying enemies. Cyclone with a lot of attack speed and attached POISON SUPPORT guarantees keepup of the high virulence stacks through 90% combined chance to POISON. Virulence Stacks add damage to the Crawler. With the introduction of Cluster Jewels it’s now possible to get more virulence stacks, some extra block and life gained on block. ====================================================================================== 1) PROS

Levelling is a very standard melee character. You can use Molten Strike, Cyclone or anything till you get Herald of Agony at level 16. Keep in mind, even though Herald of Agony is powerful alone, it can be painfully slow while levelling. You will also need to run Clarity for a while, to sustain channelling mana cost of Cyclone. Mana Gained on hit jewels are very important and will help dramatically. His damage mostly increases with LEVELS of a gem. So anything that gives +1 Physical or Chaos Skills gems will boost dramatically. Cold Iron Point and lvl.4 Empower are biggest boosts. 2) Is it a good league starter?

It is, but chest and weapon would be expensive at league start. Well, like most other good items i guess. 3) Is this build really cheap?

It is 10 times cheaper than the “old” Mana Guardian. Outside of +1 chest, there’s literally nothing to spend money on. 4) But JUGG is better?

JUGG is not better. He can sustain damage well, but Gladiator blocks it entirely, so literally nothing comes though. 5) Why you are not using Golden Rule?

It’s not needed. Without it you have 40 stacks against any single target anyway + you need cluster jewel with Antivenom to prevent dying from Poison. IMHO it’s a waste of a slot for a life build. 6) Why you didn’t put Whirling Blades in gloves to benefit from Faster Attacks?

It will increase mana cost from 10 to 30 and will leave WAY LESS for Cyclone. 7) Where can i get these Stoneskin Flayer Spectres?

This seems like a really solid build. I did one similar in SSF delirium using molten strike instead of cyclone to get some bonus LGoH action. Yours has much improved damage compared to mine which was the only weakness.
My only comment is on the anointment. If you can handle the loss of resistances from sanctuary then deflection is awesome. With versatile combatant allocated the increase in projectile block also applies to spell projectiles granting 12% chance to block projectiles. IMO that is too good to pass up.
