My gems finally reached lvl 20 and I was able to use the GCP to get them to 1/20.
Now I will focus on upgrading my jewellery even though it will be difficult and expensive. With all my TS gems at 20/0 (faster attack 20/20) my dps output was 21.800. It will be much higher once my gems reach a higher lvl and I upgrade my jewellery. Here are my items. Rather than jewelry, you can look for a very good rare quiver. This way you can remove pierce for a true more multiplier (wed, added fire, phys 2 lightning), and you will get overall more paper damage. It's hard to quantize the effect of pierce on clear speed though.
The belt also could be updated for a tri res rustic sash, for more life (ouch to your pocket money again). edit: tri res belt seems hard to get as it looks like you need the str. Then maybe dual res belt and quiver with the missing res (implies cannot get all three desired damage mods: crit chance, multi, attack speed). i have a question... why side with oak on normal? +40 base life seems a littel less compared to +8% all resis.... i mean we have 4.5k life at the end?!?! but 8% are always good... did i miss somthing? i´m new.... |

Yes. resists can be capped on gear (need 135 all for 75 all in merciless), but there's no cap on life, and you never have enough life. 40 lfie typically translates to 100-120 with a lvl 85 tree.
That being said, 8% res is not such a bad choice for a new player, it will help you on your gearing options. @Rullmihr: implicit: crit chance or flat phys explicit: suffixes ideally legacy crit multi > 50. This will be your biggest damage boost. Legacy crit multi implies bad implicit (no crit chance for ex, and only 1-4 physical). crit chance and/or attack speed. res prefixes life wed leech flat physical You need a pretty good quiver to beat Drillneck. You can easily test the quivers you already have if you have tabula rasa. Put your TS links in tabula with the supported chosen to replace pierce (I'd go for Added Fire if you don't have it already) and equip your quiver and compare. edit: example with your links and drillneck: all gems 20/20 except TS 18/20: 22k dps with this non legacy quiver: AFD 20/20 instead of pierce: 25.3k dps and with this legacy quiver: AFD 20/20 instead of pierce: 25.8k dps and with TS, GMP, WED, AFD, PPAD, Faster Attack: 28k dps Ranger builds list: /917964 When two witches watch two watches, which witch watches which watch? Can you tell me the difference between the following:
(drillneck)PPAD->crit damage -> pierce -> faster attacks -> crit chance (no drillneck)PPAD->crit damage -> faster attacks -> pierce -> crit chance I thought when you link support gems the order didn't matter? So the drillneck and no drillneck version should be the same in this case right? |
