I play this build in a budget situation aswell and suggest the following:
1) get yourself a Lioneye's Glare Imperial Bow for 1-2c. It'll do good till
you can afford a more crit oriented setup. I am using it with lvl.85 and so far its ok.
2) get Frenzy charges (from Skilltree). I use Frenzy + coh + am + chain to load frenzy and get the 3 powercharges on the fly.
3) Like MortalKombat3 said, get crit nodes
4) get a 5l armor

Harbinger + high crit setup is quite far away, cause either bow, Ratsnest and Maligaro Gloves cost some ex + you need to improve your gear a lot to cap resists with the 2 uniques.

Good thing is, this build is fun even with low budget gear :D

That bow tho. Me gusta.

I play duelist, so i had to pick some DPS nodes on start instead of HP ones. I wanted to us another, melee build, but was dissapointed with too frequent deaths and switched build into archery.
Ranger fits bow build the best. You can always pick more offensive nodes as Ranger, but you cant pick more defensive nodes than Ranger can.

With my full physical 6-L setup, with Golem, Hatred, HoI and Blood Rage, and with Increased Critical Strikes gem i have 19238 DPS. With full 8 frenzy and 3 power charges, i have 29758 DPS with that gem
With Increased Critical Damage gem, i have 20137 DPS. With full 8 frenzy and 3 power charges, i have 32460 DPS with that gem.
With Rallying Cry on, number are even higher, but they vary depending on number of enemies i was able to cast it upon.

I found Daresso being the best overall chest for this build. It's great both offensively and defensively, it also provides life leech and chance to dodge.
Lightning Coil is good against physical oneshots, but it offers no offensive power, has HUGE negative resist drawback, not to mention its abymal cost.
And you can avoid physical oneshots anyway, unless you want to farm Atziri and similar content, which i would never recommend for this build on Hardcore league.

As for Taste of Hate - i see no reasons not to use it. It's just kinda expensive as flask for me.

Is it possible for you guys to look at my ranger? I don't know where to go with gear, having a really tough time getting enough STR/INT to use all the skill setups. Someone give me some advice...

I guess I should regal it just after I got it as you say. So now Haku then. I'm not even trying to calculate what's more expensive, Haku will be faster so Haku. But all that after mastercrafting 6L on my bow, (only 100fus to get)

actually I got 2 other ilvl80+ bases from map and throw on them all my alts instead of buying fuses

edit: yes, and speding 2ex is pretty easy if you have total 2ex, so I'll be fine %D

Was going to write a story of my life, but than I came to conclusio, that I should save your time. :D
To make it short. I've got an old lvl 80 TS character on Standard. Most of my gear is complete garbage.
Only things worth mentioning are: 300pDps Lioneye's Glare, Atziri Boots and Tabula Rasa.
I've got about 5-6ex to spend.

There are 2 ways I think I can go:
a)
Helm: spend 1 up to 1ex on Rat's Nest
Gloves: spend 1 up to 1ex on Maligaro's
Boots: Atziri's stays
Bow: stays (or not?)
Quiver: up to 1ex on rare, CC/CD/life possibly res
Jewellery: rare, res needed to cap, life, stats and if any funds are leftover crits
Belt: same +physical damage
Chest: I doubt I could run with Tabula. Seems it would be too glass cannon and not enough res to cap. Probably would spend 1-2ex on a 5L with high life roll and res.

b)Screw uniques and just rares? With leftover currency buy a better bow.

Which route do you recommend?

Rat's nest + Maligaro's and try to get a white 6L and just throw a few chaos on it until you get life + 1-2 resists then craft whatever you need on it if you can.

Next is getting some diamond rings with Life + Resist and an amulet with Life + Resists and possibly increased critical multiplier if avaible.

Once that, a quiver with Inc crit/ Crit multi/ Life/ Resists if needed

After that, get a 300-350 pDPS Harbinger bow.

This setup will get you into 79-80 maps ezpz.


After that, just slowly upgrade, starting with your bow. Aim for a 400+ pDPS bow.

You can run AA/HoA/Hatred if you pick some reduced mana passives + lvl 3-4 Enlighten. It's not worth it though, you're always moving.

I'm around 1 ex in currency right now so It will take me a while to hit rat's nest. It's really as good as it seems to be? Also when people post silly amount of tooltip damage like 25k is it mainly from quality gems or am I missing something?
