I absolutely use Vaal Pact, without it, Leech is far too slow at regeneration (I tried it....). With Pact, life is almost instantaneous.

The only place I saw Neversink post anything against Vaal Pact was in the section on why Energy Shield is dead to us. And one of the reasons is that Vaal Pact no longer works with Energy Shield. That's the only context I found for "no Vaal Pact" or anything similar in the actual guide.

Well, also that you lose Vaal Pact if you are going for a poison archer, but that's not in a context where you would be even marginally likely to mistake it for advising against Vaal Pact.

Almost graduated on my only character in this league, last thing i need to do is to bless orb on my bow for 50% crit. Could only afford cheap rings, amulets, gloves and boots, Lol.

One immune to curse flask is really good where you can do map with temporal chain debuff. Shadows and dust gloves help really a lot in beachhead boss stage which make you very safe from mobs. Lastly, additional flat accuracy is very important, flat physical damage is good, elemental damage is good too but they are far more expensive.

You have to many uniques - so very low life. Switch belt and gloves to rares. Those are more suited for Kaom chest setup, where you have a lot of life. Amulett too. You probably do very low physical damage - so carnage heart is no big help at all.

Rats Nest to Starkojas - 90+ Life and 2 defense effects (reduced damage and more evasion when on low life) - just a little bit less crit than Rats.

CoH - a typical chain would be CoH-HoI-Assassins-Ice Bite. HoT with innervate is also discussed here and some other curses like elemental weakness or Projectile weakness are mentioned in OP. Note you can have just one curse active on enemies.

Ice golem - I've seen that some recommend to put it in a chain with CTWD - so you don't have to recast it that often manually. However you want to keep CTWD very low (level 2-3) - but it can't sustain a high level Ice Golem then. Unless CTWD triggers he will be off too.

Have IG at 20/20 (got it from a prophecy) and also some support gem there with adds another 8 quality - but that isn't needed . Ice golem can survive enough at 20/20 - only with harbingers and bosses I have to recast him sometimes. He can be used to tank the boss + decoy totem so I can keep distance (which would also work with you Lion Bow very well).

If you wanna keep QotF - you'll need 90+ Life on all slots (except bow). Maybe even more. So good rares have high life + strength and then the user needed stats.

2nd attack: Barrage for Bosses. Even 4 link is strong. Either chest - or second bow. Bought a Reach bow - 270 pDPS 5L for 30c and I currently switch with X (which is a little bit annoying) - 5L/6l chest would be better - but they cost way more.

Definitly. It is very strong, but scales with your damage. And better with Barrage than with TS. Also makes Atziris Promise more usefull. Read the posts above, it has already been explained, even on this page. Ideally read the last pages. Many questions are asked again.

Same, but no 4th link. Copied that from OT. Key thing is to not level CWDT high. Dunno if a 4th gem could be triggered or other combos are better - but you could test it - there should be an icon in the skillbar or better check if something triggers when you get hit. Dunno about the other combos from OT. Test them. I do like IC-ID.

I use the mentioned ice combo. It is also in the OP (like the HoT combo to). There is probably some reasoning behind it. Try it out, switch some curses and check if they still getting applied and if you see an icon on the toolbar.

What curses? Well this is what I learned (pls correct me if I'm wrong - still learning):

The issue is that Heralds cannot crit by themselves. Only crits can freeze, shock and ignite - besides gems and passives that add ele ailment chance. So you need the heralds to crit in order to freeze/shock (unless you have a gem that adds freeze/shock). Ice bite adds freeze chance, Innervate shock chance. There is also a skill on the tree that adds freeze/shock/ignite (down on the right but only 5%).
Assasins Mark adds also a flat crit chance (therefore freeze and chill as Heralds can now crit). You could probably run 2 Heralds if you have the mana for it - but just one with curse.

Don't know about the exact mechanics (for instance if power charges have an influence on heralds - I'd guess they do), but if you wanna drop Assasins Mark you'll have to make sure that your herald can crit or shock/freeze enough. Increased critical strike support adds also a flat crit chance.

If you can work something out that adds enough freeze/shock - you could try projectile weakness curse instead of Asassins. This should be a really strong curse/debuff. If you have unused chest, maybe doing a 5L curse, with inc. crit as 5th if you drop ass mark for projectile or ele weakness. Ass mark seem to be very good because of base crit chance and powercharge + more crits so more damage.

I got you, thanks, noticing a huge difference in survivability already, last question I got is how should I link Barrage, currently I only have 4 link until I roll my chest to 6 so which order should I use? Barrage is currently a bit slower than my TS, but i think it's because it's only 4 link and level 1 gems lol

Yeah you need level +quality - as always (hint: level gems in offhand before you use them and never use 0 quality gems). Buy them with base quality. Some are very cheap - depends on the gem. Most Barrage gems are expensive. Tornado shot is cheap for instance.

Highest damage with 4l was for me in PoB: Barrage - Ele Focus - Ele weapon damage - phys 2 lightning.

But that is 2 blues and one red - so usually requires Voricci crafting. Slower projectiles would be my 5th gem, PPAD would also work. I did change the original tree a little bit, so dunno if this is best for you. Or put one phys gem in 4l - I recommend using Path of building it will show the DPS. Changing 1 blue (ele focus) to green and then take a phys gem would be cheaper to craft (only 1 red 1 blue).

If your TS damage is already very high to farm, you could also go for 4l TS and 6l Barrage.
I'm not at this point. So TS is still my main damage source. I just use Barrage occasionally. That would be the next step.

Only problem I ran into now is... CoH, Assassin, Innervate, HoT, spent a few hundred chroms trying to roll gloves to 4 blues.. (GfG right)... lol guess I'm going to have to CoH, Warlords, Ice Bite, HoT, for the GGBB, got a bit of cold damage from hatred anyways , guess Ice Bite will help, and I can use Windripper for some MF Runs when I'm bored.

I was mainly using TS only, doing 24k unbuffed.. I could farm 15's but it was a little hard with my life, I find myself running low on mana now with Vaal Pact, guess I'm going to level up Barrage Setup, and 6L Qotf... thanks for the help I really appreciate it

How you cap your resist on build 1? As for now I use different gloves and shoes with more resist. So wondering how you cap by using the gear you mention.

It's my first character as a ranger so still struggling with some mechanics but the gameplay looks great so far. My stuff currently:



I'm wondering on what I should focus first, I'd say rings but not sure though. Also I'm trying to craft a better bow to gain some dps. I still have few levels to do to get more life and to finish the leveling of my gems

Anyway this build is awesome and I can't wait to get more stuff to improve everything thoug
