Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page & POE 2 Arc Summary
I've been playing this build for a while now and when i look at my PoB dps, i'm around 1.5mil shaper dps but the damage in game seems really off compared to my EDC trickster that has around 1.2mil shaper dps with 15 wither stacks. I tried doing shaper and it took FOREVER.
Is that normal behaviour for this build; it being lightning dps? or am i doing something wrong with my gear or something wrong in the PoB configuration?
I'm currently in the process of crafting a -lightning resist bone helm so i'm sure that will help

Well, you have to consider the nature of the build. Your trickster is a DoT build that has essentially 100% DPS uptime, so while it's dealing less on paper, it's going to kill faster until you get your Arc DPS higher. That said, this build definitely has a higher potential DPS output than any ED build I've ever seen because there are just so many more ways to scale the damage.
First, since it looks like you're not planning on running Crown of the Inward Eye, allocate Crusader on your amulet. That will give you a huge damage boost. Hopefully the helmet you're crafting has the Arc chains an additional time enchantment, that's another 15% more right there.
Next, cluster jewels are a big help. Get 2x Scintillating Idea plus something else good (I like Vengeful Commander) between your large and small jewels.
You want more mana, too; try to push 10k. Every piece of gear possible should be absolutely dripping with mana. I'd get a cerulean ring to replace your topaz one, or at least annul defense and attack mods so you can craft mana and try to get a useful damage prefix on it. And a stygian vise so you can cram another 30-40 flat mana and life in there.
I feel like all that should at least double your damage. I show you're at 2.25m sDPS with your gear as it is: https://pastebin.com/xpc1BreU

The build didn't start to feel to me like pob said it should until I made a -resist helmet and a curse on hit conductivity ring. There's still better builds for Sirius killing, but this ones capable.
Other things you could do to increase dps are get t1 or 2 mana on everything. This ones the big one. This is "cheap" this league but will still cost you loads of alterations.
At a certain point you no longer need a life flask unless you're doing less regen maps. Atziris is good, wise oak is good and acts as a pseudo semi life flask if you're running righteous fire (you should be, it pushes the build to a whole new lvl) and is very easy to bring online with harvest. Onslaught flask is good options for staunching and curse immune flasks. One mana, a quicksilver and 3 dps flasks feels really good on this build.
Lastly, a very important aspect to this build is arcane cloak management. After you pop it, make sure to take as little dmg as possible to maximize its uptime.
All of this hinges on a very high mana pool though.

there are a few items im harvest crafting. I have a stygian vise but its missing a few resist so not using it until i fix that. I didn't even think of using a Cerulean Ring, and instead i crafted another ring with conductivity on hit. too late for that, or maybe i'll craft it later, but a crusader Cerulean Ring base is really expensive as it is.
I completely forgot about Crusader annointment, that will be first thing I do. its like 200k sDPS increase, with minor life regen loss.
the 2.25mil sDPS is because you have righteous fire enabled and with that, i feel like mana regen isn't sustainable.

the higher your life pool with RF, the more taxing your mana regen is with Agnostic.
as everyone has mentioned, get as high a mana pool as you can.
for reference:
my raw hp pool: 3.8k
my raw mana pool: 11k
ehp for burst in PoB: 6.8k
ehp for DoT in PoB: 20k
mana regen in PoB: 2k/sec
as a rule i don't run 60% less recovery rate of life because it's an inconvenience and sometimes rippy as i don't regen my life immediately.
pushing to level 97 now, haven't had a death since Level 96 50% exp (that was due to racecourse map boss's reflect)

Oh, I didn't realize the regen was an issue for you with RF, PoB still showed plenty of net regen when I looked at it. I'm sure you can fix this without too much trouble. First, realize RF is a lot harder to sustain with any map mod that lowers your fire resistance or mana/life recovery rate and plan accordingly (i.e. don't run RF for those maps if it's causing issues). Second, get the 70% increased mana regen enchantment on your boots, that will make a big difference. Finally, bind Arcane Cloak to your left mouse button, this ensures virtually 100% Arcane Surge uptime, which has a huge effect on mana recovery (especially with increased mana regen elsewhere on your gear/tree).

You can use rise of the Phoenix shield to sustain rf until you're able to do it solely on mana regen. Imo rf is such a huge buff its worth using your shield slot for it if you have to.
I tried to reanimate my league-starter char with a few exalts' worth of gear, but she still feels weak in early reds. Can you suggest anything?

The answer is always get more mana. Even if you think you have enough, get more. Cloak of defiance and atziris foible are easy ones. Cerulean ring over vermillion. T1 or t2 mana mods on everything.
Sorry for the double tap but I'm at a loss at how to figure out the below - if you could lend a hand that would be awesome!
How did you get both %spell damage and the %spell damage+mana regen craft on your wand?
I'm pretty much up to the last step of adding on that craft(spell damage+mana regen), but it's saying I already have a mod of that type:
The non-crafted increased spell damage on my wand is part of a hybrid spell damage/mana affix, so it isn't part of the same ModGroup as straight-up increased spell damage (WeaponCasterDamagePrefix)--unlike yours, which I would LOVE to have on my wand.
You have to experiment in PoB, but I think your best bet is lightning damage as extra chaos damage.
Ah that makes sense, thanks! After some messing around in POB you're correct, that mod seems to have the most DPS output.
With the league coming to an end soon I think i might make it my goal to obtain a headhunter and fit it into the build. They seem to be dropping in price and it seems like it would super fun to run maps with that :)
