Hey, as a league starter what do you recommend between 5L cloak of defiance vs a 100+ health 6L rare?

i think i cant make it happen :/

So... It was really heavy blow. Almost CO.

We losing ailment immunity from golems
About 100% increased damage from golems
About 50% base damage from archmage
Flamedash will be much clunkier to use now
Second wind will be useless
Arcane surge will not help mana sustain anymore in a meaningful way, and will not give us cast speed bonus anymore

It seems like it's time to ditch golems completely and go full shock build. At least GGG said that they've lowered bosses shock threshold. Probably even full shock + crit build. Because they've said that they will buff crit related supports, so probably they will be at least on a level with nerfed supports that we've used before.

Something like Shaper of storms + Bastion of elements + Heart of destruction. Heavily invest in shock effect and crit and get those juicy cluster jewel bonuses. Don't know if it will be viable though .

I hope Enki will find a way to save this build. But its a hard task

Hey i dont think its that bad .. the way i see it with using ritual version of the build with couple build changes you will be able to get the same results .. nerfs seems bad but the biggest one is archmage nerf thats just waaaaay too much
i can see myself ditching the golems completely and try the gold old hypothermia + shaper of winter build and shock ofc

Hi, one newby question to the build: Is elemental focus worth it? I mean, Arcane Surge (the extra effect for the supported spell) plus actually shocking an enemy should be comparable to EF, or did I miscalculate this? Hello you will have arcane surge anyway you just need to link to arcane cloak and it activates when you move... just put it on your move button its explained on enki build ...
EF is worth it yes without shock effectiveness ... your shocks are useless

I guess, that you do know that arcane surge gives an extra bonus to the linked spell on top of what other spells get. With arcane capacitor, we are not so much behind even without shock.
about shock effectiveness: I guess, we will find out once we can see it on the monsters tagged with it.

However, as others said before, I fear that the damage lost from golems and archmage will make this build even less of an endgame use.

Sure, but the extra damage is not as much as EF and even if you add shock on top of that it (without investing to shock effectiveness) doesnt reach the EF damage sadly ... but the way i see it next league would be a shock arc so who knows what would be good we need to wait and see

I understand the love of shock in you but why not just use

for now ..
and no you can't shock... you will need some other spell like some brand or something to apply the shock for you.

As far as I understood the mechanic: shock effect size is calculated by the damage that the shocking spell did.
If that is correct then I guess that any side spell like cwdt orb of storms will never shock for much while our main spell has the potential for a serious shock. (But I guess that the 10% shock of your flask might do a good job anyway)
