Im wondering is it worth to upgrade my gear anymore?


And is it worth to drop goldwyrms to switch to Brinerot Whalers for 20-40% proj damage?

I'm kinda new, can you guys explain me the point of piercing when we are using PA?Poison arrow doesn't stack, why do we need it to pierce anyway?And is drillneck actually that needed and will it increase the dmg alot?

Piercing is because of Drillneck. Projectile damage scales the cloud damage. When using Drillneck, you gain an equivalent amount of projectile damage equal to your pierce chance.

Which answers your second question: yes.

Also, if a PA arrow pierces, it effectively adds AoE because it will generate a cloud on the initial hit then wherever it hits/lands after.

@Hezee: divine that Andvarius to 70% (or buy a perfect one). And no, keep Goldwyrm.

I'm lvl 86 on my PA ranger , 17k unbuffed cloud dps , my question is , is it worth getting phase acrobatics ? I've seen some people with only 1 point in Acrobatics and that's it , some go all the way to phase acrobatics , which is the best defense for PA ranger ?

Atm i'm 1 point away from phase and i have 40% chance to dodge and 31% chance to evade.

This... is a big debate. For what it's worth, this is my opinion:

For MFing low to mid-tier maps, and early high-tier (78/79), Acrobatics on its own is fine, and proves more reliable than Iron Reflexes. But the monster damage scaling in 80+ maps starts to expose evasion as a weak defense imho because when you do get hit, it fricken hurts; thus if you're intent on pushing into the level 90s and upper-tier maps, I would argue taking Iron Reflexes (which, in fact, is exactly what I do when I want to level up).

As far as Phase Acro goes, it's largely unnecessary but it does prove beneficial for specific boss fights in the higher map ranges (most notably: Maegera in Crematorium, and first phase Palace Dominus). It's also the premiere choice for doing Atziri runs. Iron Reflexes is actually straight up bad for Apex. Phase Acro is king there.

Hi all!

I just started this build this weekend because I found two bows and a drillneck and wanted to try an arrow build of some kind. Thought I would give this builda try this weekend and made it all the way to 65. This is a great build but I have a question abou the bow and drillneck.

I have these two bows:

And this:


I know the guide specifies that I use any +3 bow but I dont have the funds for that. These three items were actually self found drops that happened in the course of a few days. Very lucky.

I'm currently using infractum for the %100 pierce chance, does that work with drillneck at all, and is it beneficial for our build?



I dont have max res just yet and I seem a little squishy.

Oh, and another question, on Jewels, I think the OP says get +% Chaos Damage, but shouldn't we be getting +% Damage over time? Isn't PA damage over time?

It's chaos damage over time so both help :)

I loved this build while leveling, but sitting at level 85, I only have 7.8k unbuffed cloud DPS...and that's including the bonuses from jewels.
Gets up to 10k with Golem and 6 Frenzy charges, but reading through the replies and seeing people talking about how they have like 10k+ unbuffed, makes me wonder...am I doing something wrong? Or am I just missing the luxurious +3 bow.
