" Because you have your own iteration of this build, I am going to be a little more general in my response to your question(s). The Blood Dance. These boots are a popular option for life based CA builds. Many of the other build guides on the forums suggest using these boots. They are popular enough for recommendation in Hidden Potential CA builds too. They are a strong pair of boots, and do add a lot of staying power. THey could let you drop Blood Rage too (but not reliable). This build is written as a dedicated MF build and as such Goldwyrm are best in slot. High fire resistance roll helps achieving res balance. High % Mana regeneration lets you keep clarity at a lower level. All the IQ needed for the build (creating a balanced C ratio) in one piece of gear. An OK/good pair of IR boots can provide two decent resistances, life, greater movement speed, and a big chunk of additional IR. Finding a pair to meet all of these can be costly, so just keep price in mind as well when thinking about the pair you want. There is no requirement to play CA as a magic find character, so if you find The Blood Dance to be your ideal pair of boots go for it. Many other CA builds already recommend them! Additionally you can do a few other things to help your character feel less squish. Instead of jewel sockets, fill in more of the scion life wheel. Drop Carcass Jack for a high evasion and high life rare chest piece. Run stone golem in place of flame golem. Prioritize life on jewels over a damage mod. *********** Per the PSA/Sticky conversation: Having a sticky post on reddit about the 'normal' timeline for information, or a best practices/trends would help greatly. It just would not be the catch all fix we would hope for. Besides I do like answering questions, it just gets tiring sometimes. I have actually taken to create a reference/quick answer document I can use for copy/paste if I am just spending time browsing 'new' in the sub. Also I like your point Ichbin, I play Magic the Gathering so I mostly see it as RTFC (c standing for card). And yes many people would be offended by that as a response. |

As you know chrono i like discussion obout nearly all things. also verry strange things like rnd in poe. So if someone ask for things and its because of new interest or new sight of something its o.k. But i hate unfriendly lazy people who think all other people on the world should help them to live there lazyness and if not they are noobs or bad.
In poe those people are not so often. But sometimes i do a map and people write to buy something. then i have a macro with "doing map right now please wait a moment i wsp you back". Most people write then its ok or no i dont like to wait or something else. some people write things like you bloddy bastard dont sell things if youre not on, or i need it now, or write 10 to 20 times the same poe trade wsp. thats what a hate. And in real life those people make the most frustration of my job. in poe or other games i laught about this. but in real life its not so easy to do. |

Assuming that they don't nerf the AW build, it's very nice. Start off though by getting a Bringer of Rain Helm - with that helm (4 sockets) you can do all content up until Shaper with no problems. From there, get the Divination Cards for a 6-link chest and buy an Abyssus - with that gear, go for Shaper/Uber Atziri. I'm horrible at dodging - I wasn't able to kill Shaper (but only tried twice). The problem I ran into is that my totems were destroyed early on - so I was doing very little damage. I think though, that with more Shaper attempts, I could eventually kill Shaper on a consistent basis - drop totems behind Shaper, and try to stay fairly close to Shaper to see what's going on - dropping totems once more as necessary. Sometimes those void orbs that follow you seem to spawn where the Shaper is - sometimes I'd be hit by those and need to move away - the void circles they left behind on those occasions really screwed up my movement and totem placement. I'd need more practice to work out how to deal with that issue. ========== Detonate Dead... DD is OK. But it needs corpses to work. So it's a bit clunky - cast a skill to generate corpses and then cast DD. Also, its crit chance is only 5% - meaning that it's going to be impossible to get guaranteed crits for the skill. Probably you'd be best off going some sort of trapper for DD - trap-cluster traps-multiple traps-?? for corpse generation. And maybe Elementalist to get the ignite DOT going. Maybe you could kill Shaper with this skill - but it's really clunky and doesn't seem to offer the damage potential of other skills. =========== Blight Blight seems to be great for leveling until you can equip Essence Drain. Once ED is available, I see no reason whatsoever to use Blight. Blight's range is extremely small - you'll need to be within melee range (or nearly so) to hit your targets. Blight does have a fairly large width - not particularly useful - but at least you can damage a large number of targets to your right and left. Blight is a channeled skill - you need to stack cast speed to get the most benefit out of the skill and you'll need to stay in place. Blight cannot leech though - which means that staying in place is not a viable option. Bottom line - Blight is great for leveling until such time as you can equip Essence Drain (level 18?) - at which point you can vendor the gem. Maybe Blight is viable/good if cast by totems - two Blight totems to get stacks going and a third totem or maybe manual cast for Wither - but meanwhile AOE is lacking. " Yeah, people who think things should be handed to them on a silver platter and get upset when it's not frustrate me to no end. ****** My early impressions on Blight match Chronos but, not a whole lot of people were using Blade Vortex for a while until the BV Pathfinder came out. I'm willing to think that some skills just need to be built correctly but.... balance. Just, balance. X_X Scorching Ray doesn't seem in its current form like it'll be useful for MFing, at least not self-cast. Seems like it's going to be a totem build. There's no leech and unlike Flameblast which can cover a pretty broad area quickly and kill things before they get close to you, you're TRULY stuck in the pocket with SR. Your only defensive mechanic is flasking. The new Voll's helm and Tukuhama's Fortress would probably make SR fairly decent. But then you could just Flame Totem. Jul 27, 2011 - Sept 30, 2018. Now that I've seen the trailer, it's more like a previous portal effect mixed with the demon portal.
Uninspired. Design wise, I see it as "So, players go Beyond, instead of Beyond going Wraeclast." Uninspired. Combine that with the mechanic itself, where damage = reward, if there isn't significant rework to balance in the patch notes in 1.5 weeks, where things get put on a more even playing field, I honestly can't say how involved I'll be in this game.
