Are they worth stacking, say, flat fire damage on the ghastly eye ?

flat fire dmg is much worse than percent because spectres base damage is really high, up to 1200 top end on fireball and 3000 top end on beam, so flat increase is minuscule compared to percentage

cast speed is also good choice for speedfarming since most stuff dies in 1 hit anyways so it reduces animation time

Without a doubt worth stacking. Though I don't like making guide that are catered to specific leagues which is why I havn't bothered comparing all my guides with the addition of these jewels as they are league specific and not related with the expansion. However, one thing is certain, flat dmg modifiers are CRAZY for skeletons. The %dmg modifiers are insanely effective for this build as well, but you still want to keep 1 Unending Hunger.

update, it's quite amusing how fast these solar guards mollywhop breachlords in red maps. both xoph and esh exploded into splinters quite quickly. I don't think I even managed to kill them in time with flame golems.

Items, you have 2 optimal choices here with very few variants of the 2 but these are my 2 personal styles:

1) Dyadus Burn Buffer:
* 2x Dyadus Axes (increases Burning dmg taken when he chills an enemy by 200%, he chills by having one of the dyaduses in off-hand.
* Ambus Charge Crusader Chainmail
* Victario's Flight
* Southbound Gloves
* Leer Cast Helmet

2) Aurastick:
* Dying Breath Coiled Staff
* Ambus Charge Crusader Chainmail
* Victario's Flight
* Southbound Gloves
* Leer Cast Helmet

Thanks for getting back so quickly! However, would the dyadus increase in burning damage be applicable if you use elemental focus for the solar guards, which nullifies the ignite? Zahndethus' Cassockis an interesting choice with bone offering and Dying Breath as well it seems

I do what I can, glad you like it :)

Elemental Focus is too strong as we don't focus on burning dmg with SGs, though if you opt for boss killing Tukohama's Vanguard then the burn setup is optimal to melt uber atziri/shaper etc etc.

I pretty much never use Bone Offering as Flesh Offering is too damn good for not just clear speed but also makes you more mobile to dodge things.

What's preferred - running Vic's Charity + Aegis or max block? It looks like most of the top ranked spectre players are running max block even on Standard? Even those with Vic's Charity don't have Aegis for some reason?

They are running Bone Offering on CWDT other than that they are using Flesh Offering.
Having increased block chance is nice for extra layer of survival.

It's really a matter of taste, Vic's Charity will grant you higher clear speed.

and decided to roll your build. How detrimental do you think it would be to use it for my specters? would conc really slow clear speed or nah? also could having a 5-6l chest be good for anything else? maybe animate guardian? Ive been playing poe for a while but this is my first summoner so Im pretty clueless. Thanks

It will be a pretty solid choice till you get a 6L Vis Mortis, so that helmet can easily be used so you can smack every fuse you get on your chest :)

Aaaand I fell in love with Solar Guards. Thanks for the great guide! I hate SRS, leveling process was painful even with tabula and Mistress of Sacrifice, but it was definitely worth it. I switched to spectres just after reaching Solaris Temple and it worked very well. I tried doing merc lab at level 66 and somehow I died, dmg in final phase was pretty low and I ran out of flasks. Kitava fight was also very tough, had to tp out of it like 3 times.

edit: lmao, I forgot to put spell echo back for both fights..
edit2: I totally forgot about slower projectiles and Equilibrium, which is obviously insane dmg boost, now Izaro dies almost instantly

I'm confused what I'm supposed to link for "Purity of Fire, Clarity lvl 1 + Generosity - Anger". I think I might a dumb boi for not reading it right.

Take a look at my char and jewels - in my opinion its the best setup.

I have max block, spellblock and melt Minotauros with 27% extra life in about 10 sec.

6.7k Life, 1k ES / LvL 84 Spectres. Did Abyssal Depths LvL 84 without a problem as well as T15 Elder Guardians - if it were not for lightning Guardian Bug.

No worries, I'm here to elaborate!

Generosity is only to be linked with Anger, the other 2 are stand alone sockets and are not suppose / don't need to be linked with anything. And should NEVER be linked with Generosity! :)

I actually have another question. When I use desecrate to resummon in a map if needed, are there any tips to effectually pick up the corpse I want to use? When there's only one solar guard corpse in the pack it's a pain to get him. Thanks again! Loving the build.

Nope, just have to do it during a quiet time. Hold A and shift your cursor around. Hit Desecrate for more bodies.

I actually didn't even know you could Hold A to see the corpse like that. Thank you so much!
