Hmmm, I'll check what tombfists with 1 socket give me. That being said, what's the good price for a dying sun? They're currently at 340c or so, is that an OK price or should I wait a bit for it to drop, if it even drops?

One question though, me being a raider doesn't change the fact that I need dying sun now, right?

Tried it both ways, Rare gripped is better in all situations.

More life, More resis, more attack speed, can roll elder/shaper stuff. Yup.

Also, I tried Tombfist with a Murderous Eye jewel with Attack speed, t1 lightning to attacks, and like 30 life for the free Intimidate. Didn't beat a Rare Gripped gloves with attack speed and life and resis. To be fair, the gripped gloves also had accuracy and flat lightning on it.

Edit: Just noticed you said Tombfist with TWO sockets.

Well, it has potential to beat a Gripped Gloves in terms of Dps... maybe?
Won't beat it if the Gripped Gloves has Accuracy, Attack Speed, AND flat lightning, though.


sorry but I have to disagree here, regarding dps.
I've tried to swap my tombfists in PoB with a pair of gripped gloves rolled with: max t1 flat lightning damage, t1 attack speed, t2 accuracy and t1 life roll.
They give me less dps counting in the intimidate bonus, damage went from 1.586k to 1.316k. I have max attack rolled tombfists and 2 jewels with 3 useful stats socketed in (flat damage and attack speed/crit multi) but that's the point, thanks to the tombfists you can abuse of the overpowered jewels this league has to offer.
Intimidate offers a nice bonus, comparable to a permanent vinktar's shock on hit.
Tombfists have % life too on it, beatable just by a t2 life rolled gripped gloves.

In the end,
good rolled gripped gloves > 1 socket tombfists
2 socket tombfists + 2 good jewels > t1 gripped gloves

But if you don't have good jewels or if you need that extra life and resistances that the gripped gloves have to offer, then they are the way to go. Keep in mind that your socketed jewels can have a bit of resistances also.
Note that for "good jewels" I mean 3 useful stats, not 4.

what do you think about the phase acrobatics node? is that really helpful in boss fights or it's better to take the 4 life nodes to written in blood?

I havn't taken it since I've re-specced out of it at level 80 or so. Once I get home, I'll re-spec 5 points from my passive tree and take that right handside most jewel slot (above acro), 1 point in acro and 1 in the mana node since I ended up getting an Ele Pen Watchers eye last night.

Comparing both, with and without as I was specced into it a little bit too early since there were more important nodes to take at the time before level 90; with Vaal Grace on + that single point, I did notice quite boost in survivability esp around tier 15/16 Abyss. Completely evading those asswipes teleporting mofos is a godsend.


I'll play around my gem setup a little bit tonight as well as I can't switch weapons since my Wrath, Herald Of Thunder & Enlighten setup is Socketed in my Wand. Thanks to my Shield, I'm able to maintain, Wrath, Herald of Ice, Herald of Thunder and still have enough mana for kb/barrage/ice golem. I might have to ditch the HoT even it adds a little bit more damage then normal empower/enlighten/wrath setup.

At the very least, I don't need an assassin's mark setup due to one of my shaped ring which is a pretty huge boon.





Does leech just come from Vinktar's and blood rage? After playing a bow char with Lioneye's Fall to transform the claw leech nodes, I felt it helped survivability a lot (especially on bosses).

Correct, also nodes under vaal pact and bloodrinker (Shadow area).
i was using 2 abyssal sockets tombfist earlier but found out that maim doesnt boost any damage so switched to 1 abyssal socket tombfist as i prefer the op weapon swap rallying cry option. Op is right about weapon swap as it can help us trigger off the blood rage which can be very dangerous at times and its really not worth swapping weapons if ur aura gems are in weapon slots.

in the end i just wanna know is maim really tht important for range builds??

It's not about the maim brother but the additional abyssal jewel slot which can add a crapton of flat ele, Max life and crit multi/attack speed.
Well, without the legacy Vinktar Flask we got almost no lifeleech. How are we supposed to compensate that in current leagues ?
