For Vaal Ice Nova doesn't Added Cold give more damage than a lvl 4 Empower?

Lvl 23 Vaal Ice Nova compared to lvl 20 gives an additional 85 - 133 cold damage.

Lvl 20 Added Cold adds 125 - 188, and 10% cold damage with quality.

@Deadbringer Yes you can play it without Dying Sun. You will be clearing fast so you will be able afford one after some time :)

It looks like level 20 added cold is better (~10 Average Damage incerease) than empower level 4 for Vaal Ice Nova. For 4 link Ice Nova Empower level 4 is still better.

Is this hc viable? ?

boots set up will help you (mark+cwdt+inmor+"vortex" YES VORTEX) and enchant "0.6" no 0.4, 0.6 leech oki? that can help you :)

Has anyone tried using Glacial Cascade instead of ice nova for the 4 link?
Im wondering if this would have better single target damage and also provide better survivability and not get stunned so often due to the range.
Also when going into bosses can maybe swap out Vaal Ice Nova and Glacial Cascade between 4 and 6 links to increase GC damage for bosses.

can this still do guardian/shaper at 2.6?

Ok so ive tried Glacial Cascade and it is so much better single target, really good to get your charges up and for the boss fight at the end.
Really is a joke using regular Ice Nova unless its really low maps.
