[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri

Was hesitant making this build my starter going into delve. Went ahead anyway mainly because its easy to generate cash early on with it. Anyways... im glad I did.

3 specs (sg) and 7 zombies.

Im using Summon Holy Relic and purity herald. To trigger the relic I set Kinetic blast up on a higher dps wand. Greater multiple and curse temp chains. Along with the chernobog sheild I have 2 curses ( enfeeble and temp chains.

The zombie pack is doing quite well as far as surviving. The regen is nice as well as the 4 relic mobs.

The speed is just wonderful... Flesh offering and the relic speed buff is great.

Mobs target what you hit. The kinetic blast off screens. This means your pet horde is finally fighting in front of you. And moving fast to do it. Bosses have been cake. You can stand right on the edge of the screen and pound away safely while your horde kills em.

Perfect for delve...

The old charge in and fortify is over... Rip Spell block. But this seems doable. Will report back when I actually get some decent gear.

Was even thinking using spectral throw to curse and trigger the scourge when I get one. Spectral throw necro lol.

Changed things around a bit. Dropped the second curse. Equipped a lion eyes remorse.

Equipped a moon sorrow. My curse temp chains/kinetic blast now has Blind. thats 20 explosions per shot. And its spammable. So blind procs alot.

Temp chains / Blind adds a bit of defense. especially in the mine.

I also stuck Herald of purity / holy relic in the moonsorow. Verbiage says both have the 10% to blind. Including minions.

Edit... Swapped out Enfeeble for TC. Stuff is all over you in the mine anyway. so blind/enfeebls it is going forward.

So experienced POEers, help out someone who has never played a specter build. Keeping in mind I'm exclusively HC, but fully expect to die eventually, is this build in it's current form ok? I don't need it to be god tier, where is the upper bar for this now?

The build is capable & proven to do all content.

If your running the build in Hardcore, you'll more than likely want to just simply run it as SRS in a 3/4-link and Zombies in a 3/4-link until you get to maps. Take your time, it will be slow but safe. This is more so than anything just because the end of Act 10 mega boss fight can be a bit rippy for lower level spectres/zombies, where as SRS will shred bosses at that stage.

Make sure you then have all the gear with correct colours & sockets before transitioning across to spectres. It's pretty much easy mode from there on out.

I killed Kitava and actually all bosses from lv28 with solar guards (asking a friend to pick up the corpse early) in tabula rasa + wraith bone helmet for that juicy +1000 spectre life. Amost nothing can kill your spectres (not even uber traps now). Of course you need that ascendancy for spectre.

So it is fine to run spectre any time you like, unless you're going SSF.

You should focus more on your own defense in HC though.

So I did some guardians with my setup on softcore and killed hydra and chimera with no deaths .

I added a summon holy relic for the life regen to minions which is set off by my shield charge .

Other than that I do not think the build is totally broken at this stage .

I have not killed uber elder or shaper though.... I have not tried yet .

I played this build (TV/SG) over the past 4leagues, and i will definitely say it is NOT good for delve.

The job can be done for regular content, but trying to push delve with TV ... no, don't do it.

Solar guard are still buged on beast borrow event, forcing you to play fire or frost sentinel in delve.

The new +1spectre craft on chest and boots with resonator, removing the horrible vis mortis and ulr setup does give you some opportunities for exta items.

I wanted to try and push my necro a bit, but survivability is becoming more and more a problem, and lack of dps is not helping. I will still push to 600, but it will be the last league i start as a spectre necro.

Using the SG version of the build, and things are pretty okay so far. Perfect build to complete the atlas and majority of the content.


Still a pretty solid and reliable starter IMO. It's great how it can do almost all map mods making completing maps so easy with exceptions such as hogm and probably uber elder.


I've managed to push my blocks to 75/68 with rumis, bone offering, a corrupted stone of lahzwar with spell block implicit, taking the 3 spell block nodes at the center of the witch starting nodes, and a rare shield with spell block mod. I also have 6.7k life and 2k unreserved mana for MoM with a lot of room for improvements for my gear and jewels. Solar guards still obliterates everything on and off the screen like a boss and so far the guardians, red elder as well as Shaper himself never gave me any problems. The new minion nodes have been awesome so far, more minion life regen and leech compared to the last patch.


I haven't done much delves so I'm only at around level 200 deep at the moment so I can't really speak for its performance down there, but so far, the solar guards as well as my character haven't really ran into anything hard down there and I still just zoom through everything with no problems.


I still love this build.
