[3.28] The Viper & The Mamba 🐍 Demo video up for Mamba | Levelling PoB in Mirage

I'm making no changes.
I have briefly tested a setup with a Ming's Heart as 3rd ring (with Nameless Bloodline). You can gain up to 35% more dmg, but you lose an Ascendancy, life, elem res and your utility flasks. It is not worth the hassle.
This is one of those cases of "If it's not broke, don't fix it". The Mamba works perfectly fine as it is : I was able to down several T17 bosses. I'll release a demo one of these days.

I'm still working on a rework of the Viper without the Mahuxotl.

Reworked setup for the Viper

Vaal Pact has become too punishing to use since its rework in 3.25.
No life recovery except from leech means : no regen, no life flask, no life gained on hit, no recoup...
So bye bye Mahuxotl, and the 100% cold and lightning dmg taken as fire and chaos, sadly.

Instead, I've gone back to the original setup of the Viper, based on the Apep's Supremacy shield.



- Poison yourself with the Golden Rule jewel.
- Get Unaffected by poison, via a Malevolence/Watcher's Eye or with the Maw of Conquest helmet.
Then you gain +max elem res, max chaos res easily and you become almost immune to bleeding. Also, we quickly recharge ES, which is a good thing because ES Leech support has been drastically nerfed (no more dmg gain while leeching).

I have briefly tested a setup with Betrayal's Sting rings, and tried to use the Nameless Bloodline to be unaffected by poison. But both options were too costly.

This new version is as smooth and enjoyable as ever and the defense system, though less unconventional, remains strong.

Sidenote : I've tried to keep 100% cold and lightning dmg taken as fire.
On the paper, this is doable without the Mahuxotl, with :
- Tempered by War Keystone : 50%
- A perfectly rolled Watcher'Eye/Purity of Fire : 20%
- A perfectly rolled Subime Vision/Purity of Fire : 30%

But then, I realized that the Sublime Vision costs 1 mirror ! (in league or in Std)
So I gave up on the idea.

The Mamba has potential nerfs awaiting her in 3.28 :

Viper Strike of the Mamba now has :
30% less Attack Speed if Dual Wielding
20% less Hit Damage while Dual Wielding
Cannot inflict multiple Poisons in the same Hit

In particular, the nerf to attack speed might feel clunky. I'll see whether it could be better to use a shield and use only our beloved Bino, which is buffed (more regen and chaos res).

And it will be useless to try a version with Betrayal's Sting ring (chance to inflict a 2nd poison).

Just played a bit with the Mamba, and actually, it feels good, even with lower attack speed. I'll see whether I can find a proper shield for the build, just in case.

For the Viper, I've made some tests with the new Exceptional gem Lethal Dose : +2 poisons per hit, -30% dmg with poison.

It would be more suited for a slow hard-hitting build (And it can't work with Mamba).

I'll make more tests, see if we can use it.

We've lost quite a bunch of DPS for the moment, because of the nerf to attack speed while dual wielding (-30%), but it remains playable. Also, we've lost several Awakened Gems.
The dmg remains good nonetheless.

After the removal of Awakened support gems, the Mamba a lost a lot of DPS.

But I've found a way to vastly improve the build.
It requires only one expensive item : the new Screams of the Dessicated unique belt, with "You have Diamond Shrine Buff while affected by no Flasks" (currently 34 div in league).

Then you always crit. So you can use Perfect Agony and get massive dmg boost for poison.

After that, you just need your Bino, and probably a Pneumatic dagger (all damage with this weapon can poison) or a 2nd Bino. Stack some Low Tolerance notable, and you're good to destroy bosses in a few hits again.

I'll see if I have time to go in league and do this new version.
