Thank you for the build. I'm enjoying it and trying to get used to it. I know y'all are calling it "tanky",but for me its a bit of an introduction to playing a glass cannon build. I have really relied on necros and just staying away, then playing lower DPS tanky builds. I'm used to face Tanking A9 Sirus, but that can get a little boring and does not do so well against the maven where its a dodge and move fest.

In terms of defense, how much impact does elusive on boots make?

I was able to take an old deadeye char at 89 and move right into T16s with the build. Just death opus. Frostbite, not assassins mark yet. no awaken or 21/20 gems yet. no elusive. etc.

That's why I called it 'Deceivingly Tanky' because if you've played previous iterations of Ice Shot Deadeye then you'd understand how glass cannon they usually are. It's still an evasion build in the end and definitely does not contend with Max Block Gladiator or Juggernaut.

Elusive gives roughly 20%-30% more eHP due to the amazing spell dodge, and also some level of movement speed. It's not mandatory by all means, just something to look for down the line at endgame.

Is there anything that I have to chance for example the amulet? Or is Replica Hyrri's Truth still best in slot even when im not using Hatred myself?

Hi there, you can change it up to Pandemonius which is used in a typical Ice Shot build. Will be abit more expensive though.

Unfortunately I don't know what will be the most optimum amulet for a character accompanied by an aurabot, so this might not be your BIS.

Balance manifesto is out today, and from the get go it doesn't seem the build is affected as much. (aside from harvest nerfs which gates endgame item accessibility, but that's true for all items)

I know you said the leveling is no different from any ice shot build, but I can't seem to find any detailed leveling guides for this build. Do you have one you recommend?

note the variation of the skill tree and mine, but for leveling purpose his video is quite detailed.

Sorry about not really making my own leveling guide, just that leveling during league start should be quite flexible depending on gear availability. You may want to focus on offensive nodes if you feel like your dps is lacking, and vice versa. Try not to get stuck in the mindset 'I have to path it this way by this level, etc.'.

3.14 patch notes is out, and it doesn't seem the build is affected as much except for gearing (Harvest nerfs).

Crafting section will be put on hold for the moment, otherwise it's 3.14 ready.

It's a little bit of both.

Most typical ice shot builds separates main skill into 2, ice shot + barrage (which requires 2 6L, definitely bad for league start) hence why I believe they got their rep. My build version doesn't really suffer from the gem links requirement as much however (only 1 main skill) except for maybe Hatred from Replica Hyrri's Truth (you can use original Hyrri's Truth for Precision before you get it, or any rares).

Gearing can be an issue too early in the league (Death Opus, Lioneye's Fall, corrupted Voidfletcher, Replica Hyrri's truth, etc.). It's these gears that are typically something you'd need to consider for leaguestarting, however do note that they are not in anyway required (except Death Opus maybe) for you to go at least up to low tier yellow maps. Hyrri's Ire (chest) and Hyrri's Bite/Demise (quiver) however are not exactly chase uniques, and can be obtained quite easily and can carry you for a long way. Don't underestimate Hyrri's Ire's added cold damage on a 5L setup, it carried me up until tier 14+.

I do admit it's not exactly comparable to Toxic Rain level of investment / results. Also couldn't compare them with other typical league starter builds (ED/Contagion, summoners, golementalists, etc.) for the same reason.

Take it with a grain of salt, I just don't like the idea of playing a 'farming' build then going to what you actually want to play, and I also mostly play bow builds which are typically known for their horrible leaguestart experience rep, so I may be a bit biased. Your mileage may vary.

TL;DR ice shot typically has more gear checks during leaguestarting than other low investment builds, but not exactly mandatory to reach low tier maps.

Hi I've been looking for a nice map clearing build for this league, and i stumbled upon this build. Just wanted to ask if this build would do well with an aurabot? Going to full party this league with my brother and some friends this league start to change up the usual poe experience and was wondering if you have any advice i could do with this build?
