Dawn of the Hunt - What We’re Working On

Dear GGG,
You have made a great patch and put in a lot of effort to set it on track. I see many quality-of-life improvements and I particularly enjoy the new tactician ascendancy. I hope you will find a way to accommodate all player wishes without losing sight of your own vision. Remember, people often complain just because they can. | |

Constructive Feedback on PoE2 Early access 0.2
After spending considerable time with the beta this weekend, I'd like to share some thoughts on areas where I believe the game currently faces challenges that may impact player enjoyment and retention. Leveling Experience Concerns The progression system feels unnecessarily restrictive and punishing in several ways: Skill Support Limitations: The RNG-gated support gem system severely limits build experimentation and punishes early mistakes with few recovery options Prohibitive Respec Costs: At level 33, using all available gold only allowed for a partial respec - perhaps consider free respecs until mapping phase Economic Imbalance: Gold scarcity versus vendor pricing creates frustration during early progression Character Progression: Level gains and point allocation provide minimal perceptible power increases Combat Design Considerations Movement vs Combat Mechanics: While the WASD system works, there's a fundamental tension between combo execution and enemy speed/damage that feels unbalanced Risk/Reward: Boss encounters requiring multiple attempts often yield no meaningful rewards Ascendancy Implementation: The current system feels overly punitive with limited flexibility and schema mechanics that feel more tedious than challenging Quality of Life Suggestions Campaign Pacing: Consider shortening later acts and reducing the size of zones in Acts 2-3 Portal Mechanics: While improved, the current system still heavily punishes experimentation in juiced maps Difficulty Curve: A gentler introduction would help players learn mechanics before facing significant challenges I understand maintaining challenge is important to PoE's identity, but there's a difference between meaningful challenge and barriers to enjoyment. The current implementation feels closer to an ultra-Ruthless mode than a standard experience accessible to your diverse player base. I respectfully request GGG consider these points - not just from streamers and elite players, but from those who enjoy experimenting with builds and experiencing varied content without excessive punishment for normal gameplay. Thank you for considering this feedback. |

Problem: Chrono was having 2 low-end Builds
Solution: Remove 1 Build and half the damage of the other one. |

This is awful. I just watched the 3 year old annoucement video of the gameplay that somebody posted and it looks like a different game. It looks like PoE, fast fun, control with crisp skills. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? How did you went from making this to say ahh nah lets make everything 200% WORSE? Why does nothing do damage on its own and feel good to use? Why do i start a merc and no matter which skills i am using nor which supports i am putting on, the AUTO ATTACK does 600% more damage? Why am i LITERALLY FORCED, to play this combo crap. Where are my flasks? Where is my way of mitigating freeze, stun ignite? Ehw "meaningful combat"...The only meaning this combat has it is does not feel like an ARPG. It does not feel fun. Its not satisfying. Its kills build creativity. This almost forces you more to use the same skills over and over then Diablo 4 does, because the gameplay only works if you use it like intended?! WTH? I am so done with this. For the love of god please work on a PoE 1 league...

When you see the game 2/3 years ago and now.. https://youtu.be/jVRADmjzsss?si=TV-upcZKMBK6CH0e it's just sad.. CW and Erik left... And we are stuck with John making decisions and ruining the best ARPG ever (PoE1) with this new game that shouldn't even be called Path of Exile anymore

I'm playing to have fun and spend my time with pleasure. With PoE2, I can't get that.
PoE1 was wonderful — now it's almost abandoned, sadly. For me, PoE2 is only good in terms of graphics. I tried this patch and dropped it instantly — I don't want to tickle bosses to death. It's boring. Maybe in the future, it will be a wonderful game. I'd rather take my money back. It's not worth the time or the money. |

I think the progress should be faster, combat should feel more fluid and we should feel powerful. I think white mobs should die fast.. rares could be a challenge and rewarding. Bosses are fine.. i like them being hard.
Now i'm struggling with basic white mobs and rares dont drop any good items. Enemies are way too fast and some cases there is too many of them compared to the power of my character. Also the whisps are waste of my time.. not interesting, not rewarding. I dont understand why dont we have movement skills? Some sprint skill to use out of combat? I havent seen movement speed on boots yet and i'm end of act2. Soooo freeeekiiing slow game... boring. I'm done for now. See you in next patch. |

I don’t know… I’m already exhausted.
I’ve played Ranger, Huntress, and most recently Warrior. I’ve changed my builds multiple times because I thought that might be the issue… but I have no idea – I’m doing barely any damage, it takes forever for my combo to build up, and then it’s back to square one. I keep porting back to town to refill my flasks because I’m chugging them constantly... Sure, I’ve tried Parrying – but how often am I supposed to do that with endless mobs? I’m fine doing it against bosses or in specific moments, but all the time? It just feels super lame. I really hope you’re planning to adjust something today, because honestly, I don’t know if I’ll keep playing otherwise. It’s starting to feel like work instead of chill gaming. I also don’t have any gold left to respec – so if something changes and I need to adjust my skills again, I just won’t have the energy to grind gold for it. If that’s the case, then I’ll just hope things get better in the future… and for now, I’m out. |
