You have given me quite a bit to think about.
My gear setup has been evolving since the start of the league... and its been build around trying to cap my resists, and utilize the leech wheel ... since i cant afford an accuity yet
I somehow got it into my head that i needed crit chance and hence went with all possible ways to get crit chance . Im at 73% in town and 89.5% crit chance with 3 power charges in fight.

I was trying out different setups. QOTF is what i use for MS - Grace+ hatred when i was doing atziri runs.
I run with enlighten to run 2x 50% or to have the freedom to run 3 aura/heraldds as and when the situation needs it or w/e . tried out different aura setups to see which work best... still trying to figure that one out
so far
grace+hatred for atziri - 90 MS 31k dps without charges
My dps with charges and flasks up is 75K but just the aura's its 32k, hatred+ HOI.

When you say QOTF build .... I am not sure what you mean. my reasons for using QOTF was for the evasion boost and MS boost. But i do not need it all the time... I even have puncture/traps on my other 6L .. just for atziri but ever sine i stopped doing atziri and focused on purely leveling...

I am not sure where i am at.. at this point.

I don't remember why i made these gem choices , trying to figure out the math..

ICD ( 21/20) 80% inc damage
WED 21/20 - 70% inc damage
PTL 21/20 - 40% inc damage ( 10% inc physical damage)
added fire damage- 45% inc damage ( 10% inc fire damage...)
seems like i figured ICD+ PTL might give me more damage....

I seem to be missing quite a bit in my understanding.

I think i misread the guides and assumed with high crit chance i would have the ability to get some cast on crit action going ..... apparently this does not seem possible since i don't want to deviate from TS as main source of dps.

The OP mentions the gloves in the initial write up but I wanted to see if anyone was using them with the build currently. I had stuffed them in the guild chest after finding them on my first Talisman character and decided to break them out once I was high enough level to use them. While they may not be a Maligaros, the synergies they provide with the boots and Frenzy charges is very welcome.

Disclaimer: this is my first archer/ranger and I am still in the low 70's so far from optimized at this point.

Blood dance is used to generate the frenzy charge (if you dont use frenzy skill for exemple as a single target skill). The gloves are OK because it's use the frenzy charges (usually 7-10 in this build) to generate DPS (AS + poison). IMO Nerversink planned to use the poison when full frenzy charged in a new build (max poison damage ?)

78k is with hatred and herald of ash, but no charges, flask or increased attack speed from blood rage. 116k with taste of hate, blood rage and 3 frenzy charges. 130k if I also use vaal haste. This is of course with the maximum dps setup (TS, GMP, FA, PPAD, PTL WED).

I followed the Beginner thread on TS, I like it.

I struggle with DPS. I don't have loots of ex doing nothing.
I invested in gear that might not be suited for this character. But playable.

@Neurik: when at full frenzy charges, snakebite provides 20% of physical damage as extra poison (chaos) damage delayed over 2s. This is without any chaos damage increase.
You can see this as a pseudo additional "free" support; it can boost your damage quite sensibly if you need it.

Thanks for the reply, I did not know the damage from poison was that much but it is not uncommon for me to run into packs that are already significantly damaged from getting hit by a stray projectile and poisoned far off screen. It seems pretty effective to me so I was just curious if any "grown up" TS rangers were using it or if I should be planning to replace it after hitting 90+.

I am lazy and love the idea of being able to generate Frenzy charges automatically with the boots and they just pair so well with the gloves IMO because I am always at full frenzy charges.
