[3.7 updated] Voidfletcher Deadeye (all core content cleared, budget options available, 600+ depth)
" Eh, the tshot enchant really isn't that important, I haven't even bothered with it in the last few leagues since voidfletcher was buffed. I don't even think I had it in my original version of the build way back when VF was weaker and I was still strong enough to do all content. It's s nice dps boost and all, but entirely excessive and not really worth the cost til you're at the final stages of optimization. The more relevant issue is you're kinda lacking as far as global cold damage goes. Added cold support is good to cover ice shot and tshot, but voidshot (which carries a great deal of potential dps) kinda needs you to get global sources of flat damage. That's why I use the flat cold Hatred watcher's eye, and use several abyss jewels, and make sure my rings have plenty of flat cold damage. It'd help to use some of the gems I use in the more recent setups too. I've tweaked stuff around over the leagues for good reason. You want frost bomb in your setup for getting -cold res, for starters. Without the pandemonius your void shot will have very little cold penetration, so it's a pretty big deal to carry frost bomb with you to help out against enemies with higher resists. Part of the reason you had issues with that t10 general could be because they have their own innate resists and your map mods probably added even more... they could have been up around capped resists against you while you had nothing to circumvent it. It also helps to put bonechill in your ice shot setup instead of pierce... you already have omen on the winds, so you don't need pierce too. Bonechill will cause enemies on your ice shot ground to take ~16% increased cold damage from all sources, which means it's buffing not only ice shot but tshot and void shot too. And while the next bit won't really help with the dps vs that general, you probably should go for herald of purity instead of herald of ice, too, if you can get enough strength for it. With the phys to cold conversion HoP adds pretty much the same amount of damage to your attacks as HoI, and the sentinels it provides are *much* more useful, they can bodyblock and draw aggro and just generally be a nice defensive help. And on my setup they cull bosses for me. Meanwhile HoI's explosions aren't that important, they deal very little damage because this tree has virtually no scaling for them. " I must have made a mistake somewhere along the lines, I thought that I followed your gem setups to the letter, I'll go re-read the guide. I didn't see anything about bonechill, frost bomb, or HoP. I'll go re-read right now, apparently I'm an idiot. Edit: Man, I'm not trying to be a shit bag or anything, but I cannot find where you talk about those gems in the guide. In the gem section, it lists the gem links that I'm currently using. Am I missing something? Pyrok#1835 님이 2019. 6. 29. 오후 4:40:09에 마지막으로 편집

" i haven't updated the actual gem section in a while, but my updates for past leagues and the gems i have socketed in my more recent gear setups have it all. |

Probably already asked and answered, but can someone explain why we're using both ice shot and tornado shot?
And if you have only one 6-link, which one takes priority over the other? Thanks a lot! |
|
" You use ice shot for clearing mobs and mapping and tornado shot for single target dps. I personaly like to use both on ts on ts and barrage. |
|
|
Can anyone explain why Frost Bomb is being used since we use Ice Shot for clearing and Tornado Shot for single target?

Hello, love voidfletcher builds. since this is one of the only really active Voidfletcher guides I wanted to share my version of the build.
I've noticed that a lot of people are complaining about feeling squishy and I think my version is a lot beefier while having similar dps to the OP. I've decided to forgo the 6L elder chest and use Hyrri's Ire. I also grab a lot more life nodes. In the end I have >6600 life, 50% dodge, and 56% spell dodge. I mainly use iceshot/barrage, but I've included Tshot in the pob so you can compare with OP's build. Currently experimenting with Precision watcher's eye for flask sustain, but Hatred watcher's eye works pretty good too. No lioneye's fall, assmark ring/ mark of elder, or pandemonius required (although I could certainly slot them into my build when I've earned a bit more) https://pastebin.com/HwbS1WWB Mirror Arrow Summoner: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1422529 Teleports Behind You: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2123293 Magma Orb Deadeye: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2736039 dariidar#0631 님이 2019. 7. 2. 오전 2:07:04에 마지막으로 편집

" The build can indeed be pretty tanky if specced correctly. The precision Watcher's Eye is not worth it in my opinion. There is a global 200ms cooldown for charges gained from crit, and that charge is only given to 1 flask. So with constant crits your 5 flasks would all gain 1 charge per second, meaning it would take at least 20 seconds to get 1 extra use out of a flask. Evertyhing is long dead by then. |

" Yeah, I've been thinking Hyrri's Ire since it got reworked, and this league added more crit around so I wouldn't mind forgoing the elder chest and some crit in the tree to make up for the life (and i'll probably grab the crit watcher's eye to make up for the elder chest's crit). Frankly I kinda should have done it this league cuz getting a crit chest my usual way (fossils) is way more expensive this league. Don't think I'd bother going for as much life as you've got, but i'd probably tweak some stuff around to grab the life+ev cluster above ranger and the life+es one above shadow or something like that. Shouldn't be too hard to make up what I lost from swapping out from the chest, but tbh i don't feel the need to go much above 5k life. Also yeah, I definitely can't disagree with dropping lioneye's fall and the claw wheel... it already felt like it was mostly a burden having to spend 8 points for the wheel and socket to get 60/45 crit chance plus leech, but it had been one i felt like i needed both to get good enough crit and to get the leech (leech took more than one point to get near the duelist in the old tree). Now that i'd only have to spend one node near the duelist for life and mana leech, and again with other new sources of crit around, i just don't feel it necessary anymore... it'll free up a lot of points not taking it. I haven't done a real update for the build yet this league (beyond the hypothetical one i did after seeing patch notes) cuz i've been mulling over some stuff like this, i'm not 100% on what direction i wanna take it now.
