So I tried this build a few leagues back (before Ascendancy, Proph etc.) and I remember having trouble in the end-game maps (lvl 80+) with reflect and a ~5k hp pool not being enough, even with Lightning Coil. Did the survivability go up since then or should I just skip this?

Guys, can you point me to a good defensive CWDT combo for the build? The original post suggests Enduring Cry + CWDT + Immortal Call, but I don't like the idea of casting Enduring Cry manually (yes, I am lazy :)). And as far as I understand, Immortal Call will be pretty useless without those endurance charges. Anything else I can pair up with CWDT?
Fuck master rotas. Fuck any kind of rotas, for that matter.

So I picked raider and I am unsure which ascendency nodes I should shoot for.
I picked onslaught since I liked the extra movespeed, damage, evade and i had just gotten a flask for onslaught but it doesnt really work on maps when all the adds have died but the boss is still alive. Frenzy seems good since we have so much but it offers no offensives (which can be fixed with phasing tree as well I suppose. Should I go frenzy/phasing, onslaught/phasing or frenzy/onslaught? I can probably get merciless lab soon so I will have 6 points, wondering if its worth regretting to pursue frenzy or phasing first or something depending on which is best. |

So with the reach of the coucil nerf in 2.6, should i pick it anyway? Or should i take another bow?

This build was my first character way back in Perandus. I've recently started playing again and decided to run with something like this when duoing with my wife. I thought the new Ice Shot jewel looked interesting (even if it's pierce instead of chain, yuck) and figured hey, why not be a hipster, I'm already running a double-dipping poison build, let's try something a little old-school, Ice Shot and Blast Rain.
So my gear is going to be Harbinger, Signal Fire, Rat's Nest, Maligaro's, rare boots, rare belt, and undecided on jewelry. I'm running Ice Shot / GMP / PPAD / WED / Pierce / Hypothermia (with one Omen of the Winds jewel for 100% pierce), and Blast Rain / Concentrated Effect / PPAD / WED / Added Fire Damage / Faster Attacks. Auras are Herald of Ash and probably Hatred. So this leaves me in a bit of a bind, that I'm hoping my fellow rangers could help me with. You might notice there's no lightning damage on this. That's really unfortunate because shocking things helps *tons*, especially bosses. Also no defensive auras, so my defense is garbage (just what evasion gives me). So the way I see it, I've got to choose between 3 unique chests to deal with my defensive problem: Kintsugi, Lightning Coil, and Perfect Form. Kintsugi is just all-around good defensively. Lightning Coil is a defensive champion and also has flat lightning damage, but reading over how shock works it's not clear to me that it would be *enough* damage to actually shock bosses or even trash mobs. Does anyone know if it's actually enough? Downside of course is it's gonna be really hard to cap those resists. Perfect Form is interesting because while it's less defense than the other two (Arctic Armor caps out at 13% less physical, nothing to write home about), it does save 4 passive points on the tree. But it's probably not worth. So yeah, fellow rangers, what should I do about chestpiece and shocking? I'm leaning towards Kintsugi if Lightning Coil is worthless at shocking, and Lightning Coil if that works for shocking. I don't think Perfect Form is good enough defensively to be worth taking when I really need all the defense I can get. |

Hey Neversink, with the experimental CI-ES skill tree, I think you can replace the two minor dexterity nodes under Fangs of the Viper with the single dexterity point right below those two freeing up one point. If not worrying about evasion you could then also respec the two 5% ES/10% evasion nodes into two 6% ES nodes.
