Sorry for being noob, but I recently got my hands on Vaal Arc (it's pretty much my first build ever) and I noticed it can hold only one charge. Will the amount of charges change with the level of gem? If not, then I guess you use normal arc and Vaal arc only for single target bosses to maximize dmg output?

Pretty much yeah, or just pop it from time to time while mapping to gain the Lucky buff, may help if you don't have an Inpulsa's yet.

Awesome guide, I'm loving the build. What do you think of helping Alira instead of killing all bandits?

Alira is only for crit build (mana regen and resist are considered much less important). This build uses Elemental Overload so no crit.

1. I saw people always pick X+shiled rather than staff, why?When I messing POB around I find staff have way more dps,like the Agnerod West Imperial Staff.
2. Why not pick up the herald nodes?it's 25% big more,why?
3. If I do something wrong above,I mean too glasscannone, what is the acceptable sheet dps of arc?

I am not the OP but I can help:

1. Scepters allow you to use a shield and use Shield Charge/Leap Slam. It also provides better defense and block.

2. You drop the Herald later on (once you spec into MoM) so its not worth it.

3. Depends fully on gear and the stuff you wanna do with the build to be honest.

I love this build.

How can I more single target dps?

@toyhi: In addition to what Denzo626262 wrote, Shield Charge is also simply another layer of defense for us, we can quickly gain Fortify with it and move away from big hits, which are usually announced and give enough time to react.

My Standard char currently has 77k Tooltip in hideout, but that's at Lv100 and with really good gear.
I'm not far enough in SSF Incursion yet to get a more realistic number, but i'd say anyting above 50k should be fine for high maps, 60k+ for endgame bosses.

@tomyrou: Get a high level Vaal Arc and either a 5L chest or Tabula Rasa and put your Arc setup there. Later on you can also get an Essence Worm to use Wrath, but priority should first be on getting enough life on gear and capped resistances.

I have a question about one of the passives. I noticed that the build doesn't take Stormweaver until the level 100 update. Would it be beneficial to take that talent earlier, for the huge 25% boost to lightning damage and 20% mana regen rate? Especially considering that not many people will likely take the build to level 100.
